Job Title: Alcohol and Drug Counselor I
Location: Pendleton, Oregon
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hrs/week (1.0 FTE)
Pay Range: $24.23 – $34.90/hr (DOE)
Supervisor: Addictions Clinical Supervisor / Clinical Manager

Position Overview

Provide culturally competent outpatient alcohol, drug, and behavioral health counseling in alignment with Oregon Administrative Rules and CCS’s mission. This role delivers assessments, treatment, and support while collaborating with community partners and advocating for clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessments, develop service plans, and provide individual, group, and family therapy.

  • Complete discharge summaries, relapse prevention plans, and maintain accurate clinical documentation.

  • Participate in case planning, community coordination, and client advocacy.

  • Provide education, outreach, and liaison work with schools, courts, DHS, and community partners.

  • Attend trainings, maintain compliance with OARs, and use CCS systems for client records.

  • Perform urinalysis testing, transport clients, and report suspected abuse as required.

  • Participate in supervision and professional development.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; CADC-I certification preferred (or eligible within 2 years).

  • Minimum 2 years continuous abstinence required for those in recovery.

  • Knowledge of addictions, mental illness, and recovery model (or ability to acquire).

  • Strong communication, documentation, and teamwork skills.

  • Must pass criminal background checks and maintain confidentiality.

  • Valid driver’s license, personal auto insurance with liability coverage, and ability to travel within the community.

Work Environment

Office and community settings, including client homes. Some travel and occasional overnight stays required. Must be able to lift up to 10 lbs and work in unpredictable environments during client crises.
