Job Description

Job Title: Architectural Draftsperson (Intermediate to Senior Level)

Location: Clearwater, Florida

Position Type: Full-Time; in office

Reports To: Project Manager

Experience Level: Minimum 5 Years in Architectural Practice

About Us

We are a well-established Architectural Firm specializing in commercial architecture, serving a diverse range of clients across the southeast. Our work spans retail, office, industrial, and mixed-use projects. We take pride in delivering thoughtful, efficient, and constructible designs — with a focus on quality, functionality, and long-term value for our clients.

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Architectural Draftsperson to join our team. This position requires a professional who understands not just how to document a building, but how buildings are assembled and constructed in the real world. The ideal candidate is proficient in the technical aspects of building plan production and can translate design intent into accurate, coordinated construction documents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce complete and accurate construction documents, including plans, elevations, sections, and details for commercial building projects.
  • Coordinate with Project Architects, Engineers, and Consultants to ensure design accuracy, cross-coordination, and code compliance.
  • Review and incorporate Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, and Civil drawings into architectural plans to ensure consistency and completeness.
  • Develop technical details and assemblies based on a strong understanding of building systems and materials.
  • Maintain organized and accurate project files and documentation.
  • Maintain project documentation, drawing organization, and layer management control according to firm standards.
  • Support project teams from the end of design development through the construction phase.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in an architectural office. Architectural experience in the Commercial sector is preferred.
  • An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Drafting, Architecture, or a related field is required.
  • A strong proficiency in AutoCAD is required. Experience with Revit, SketchUp, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of building assemblies, materials, and construction methods.
  • Ability to interpret and produce detailed drawings that accurately communicate design intent and meet code and constructability requirements.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality, coordinated drawings.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

Why Join Our Team

At Fisher Architects we offer a collaborative environment where technical expertise and creativity come together to shape the built environment. Our team members are given opportunities to grow professionally, take direct ownership of their work, and contribute to projects that make a lasting impact in the communities we serve.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Paid time off and holidays.
  • 401(k) retirement plan.
  • Professional development and continuing education opportunities.
