As a Diesel Technician at US FOODS®, you are responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining diesel tractors, trailers, and refrigeration equipment, ensuring compliance with state and federal trucking regulations. You will perform diagnostics, rebuilds, and routine maintenance while maintaining detailed repair logs and adhering to safety standards. The role requires hands-on experience, technical skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with a focus on continuous improvement and teamwork.
O ur Intermediate Diesel and Trailer Techs Schedule: Sunday- Thursday - 3PM until 11 PM or finish with potential O/T
Current Hourly rate: $31.50 , paid weekly

Main Ingredients of the Job!
Our US FOODS® Diesel and Trailer Techs are responsible for the troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of the Fleet Road equipment including diesel tractor , trailer, thermo-king, converter dolly, and maintenance vehicles.
Ensuring compliance with all State and Federal trucking regulations.
Mechanics will also be responsible for the documentation, completion, and keeping of current maintenance logs for all repairs and parts used daily.
Troubleshoot, diagnose, rebuild, replace, and complete all required repairs on diesel equipment (i.e., tractors, trailers, bobtails, reefers, lift gates, etc.)

Related Experience/Requirements:
(3) years of verifiable hands-on experience as a heavy-duty commercial diesel mechanic or reefer mechanic or a combination of both; or (1) years of verifiable hands-on experience with either Diesel Mechanic Certification or TK/Carrier Refrigeration Certification or both.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities :
Must furnish own personal hand tools
Ability to comply with EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) and OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) regulations as pertaining to the shop and fleet
Ability to read and understand technical and service manuals
Successfully demonstrated independent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication skills; able to communicate with co-workers and drivers with demonstrated teamwork skills
Ability to manage multiple functions simultaneously in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision

Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law. The expected base rate for this role is between $29.00 and $34.00 per hour.
As applicable, this role will also receive overtime compensation as appropriate.
