Position Title: Drywall Taper Company Name: The Edge Construction Pay Range: $24–$35 per hour Employment Type: Full-Time Location: Bartlett, IL Industry: Commercial Construction Services Job Overview The Edge Construction is hiring an experienced Drywall Taper to join our team of professional commercial carpenters. This position focuses on delivering clean, consistent drywall finishes across a variety of commercial projects in the Greater Chicago area. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience with production taping tools, particularly the bazooka, and the ability to assist with drywall hanging and framing as needed. At The Edge, we provide: Long‑term, year‑round employment A solid foundation of negotiated projects A collaborative, safety‑first culture where every team member is valued Key Responsibilities Apply drywall compound and finish drywall joints using production taping tools (including bazooka) Perform sanding and finishing work to create smooth surfaces for paint or wall coverings Assist in drywall hanging and patching as needed Collaborate with framing and hanging crews to ensure proper drywall installation Operate and work safely on scissor lifts for elevated projects Maintain a clean and safe job site, following OSHA standards Read and interpret blueprints and site instructions when needed Complete assigned work with a focus on quality, speed, and consistency Qualifications Minimum 2 years of experience in commercial drywall finishing/taping Proficient with automatic taping tools, including bazooka Experience in drywall hanging and patching Framing and acoustical ceiling grid experience is a plus Familiar with commercial construction job site workflows OSHA 10 certification (or ability to obtain — we offer training) Valid driver’s license Comfortable using scissor lifts and working at heights Able to lift 50 lbs., stand for long periods, climb ladders, and work in variable site conditions Team‑oriented, reliable, and detail‑focused Weekly Direct Deposit Pay 401(k) Retirement Plan with Employer Matching Paid Time Off (Vacation, Sick Days, Holidays) Employee Referral Bonus Program Uniforms Provided Safety Equipment Provided Paid Training & Certifications Apprenticeship and Mentorship Opportunities Year‑Round Work and Career Advancement Schedule Full‑Time, Monday–Friday Location On‑site work across the Greater Chicago area Must be able to travel to and from Bartlett, IL and surrounding project sites We are proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
