Job Description

Interested in working for a non-profit organization rooted in a tradition of care and compassion? Join our team! CORA is a fast-paced, growing organization with over 500 team members and growing. Our team has been helping children and families throughout Philadelphia for the past 50 years and continue to put our community first.

This PART TIME EDP (Eviction Diversion Program) Application Reviewer will support CORA’s Good Shepherd Mediation Eviction Diversion unit. The City of Philadelphia's nationally recognized Eviction Diversion Program (EDP) provides an opportunity for landlords and tenants to resolve disputes without going to court, by facilitating mediation and funding. CORA GSM operates the intake and mediation portion of the EDP.

To participate in EDP, landlords must submit a request on a City online portal, outlining the circumstances of their intention to evict, along with tenant contact information, and documentation to facilitate the diversion process. The major responsibility of the EDP Application Reviewer is to review landlord requests for diversion, and to provide guidance to landlords whose applications are rejected (usually for missing information).

This is a part-time position. Hours are flexible and are typically 10-20 hours per week. At least half of those hours must be during regular business hours. Most work is virtual with occasional on-site meetings in Philadelphia.

Starting Rate: $18.32/hour

Rate increases based on experience and credentials.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Uphold the mission, vision, and values of CORA Services, which includes valuing all individuals, supporting the individual’s potential for growth, and enhancing a pragmatic service system approach.
  • Access landlord requests for diversion on the City's EDP Portal
  • Carefully review each application to ensure that the necessary components are included
  • Mark each application as "Approved" or "Denied"
  • If Denied, include an appropriate message/explanation
  • Answer questions from landlords by phone and email to assist in getting their applications approved
  • Answer questions from landlords and tenants about EDP and mediation
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

The EDP Application Reviewer will have the opportunity to observe mediations and to participate in mediation trainings offered by CORA GSM.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma required; bachelor's degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Quickbase, Bookings)
  • Ability to quickly and easily adapt to program and software changes
  • Strong attention to detail is a MUST
  • Experience with data entry and recordkeeping
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and conversational skills
  • Some knowledge of mediation and/or landlord-tenant issues in Philadelphia a plus, but not required

If you have incredible attention to detail, a passion for making a difference in the community, and a desire to work in a caring, supportive environment, then this opportunity is for you! Apply here and connect with us today.
