Job Description

This role involves performing patient assessment, determining priority of care, and providing immediate interventions. The nurse will analyze assessment data, formulate and implement a plan of care, and evaluate its effectiveness in collaboration with medical staff and in accordance with the policies and procedures of the health network.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient assessments and prioritize care needs.


• Provide immediate interventions as required.


• Collaborate with medical staff to develop and implement plans of care.


• Evaluate the effectiveness of care and adjust plans accordingly.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Three (3) years of recent Emergency Department experience required.


• Current licensure with New Jersey State Board of Nursing.


• American Heart Association BLS required.


• American Heart Association ACLS required within 6 months of hire.


• American Heart Association PALS required within 6 months of hire.


• NIHSS Critical Care Course within 1 year or 2 years of CC experience or current CEN.


• Completion of the Trauma Nurse Core Course within 12 months of initial assignment or follow-up with a minimum of 8 contact hours of education every two (2) years.


• National Certification in specialty area preferred.
