Frontline Applicant Tracking - Union Elementary School District (AZ) Position Type: Elementary School Teaching/ Instructional Coach Date Posted: 10/3/2025 Location: District Wide Instructional Coach Purpose Statement The job of Instructional Coach is done for the purpose/s of improving student achievement and instructional effectiveness by providing support to the educational process with specific responsibilities for coordinating instructional activities and curriculum implementation relating to pedagogy and services, providing information and serving as a resource to teachers; achieving defined objectives by planning, evaluating, developing, implementing and maintaining services in compliance with established guidelines. This job reports to Assigned Administrator Essential Functions Analyzes class and grade level data in all content areas at assigned elementary school(s) for the purpose of sharing information with teachers and making informed decisions relative to instructional practices. Assesses skills and needs (both initially and ongoing) of teachers and students within an elementary school setting for the purpose of determining the kinds of professional development and strategies needed to bring about student achievement and gains value-added in mathematics. Assists teachers for the purpose of supporting them in the implementation of standards-based Collaborates with internal and external personnel (e.g. building principals, lead teachers, parents, community members, etc.) for the purpose of improving services and programs. Collaborates with/and supports school principal in variety of administrative activities (e.g. curriculum modifications as required by federal, State and/or district guidelines, screening, interviewing, and/or orienting staff, development of master schedules, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring a positive learning environment and the efficient use of resources. Communicates with a variety of parties (e.g. instructional staff, other school personnel, parents, students, etc.) for the purpose of improving the quality of student outcomes, developing solutions; achieving established program objectives and/or planning curriculum. Conducts meetings and/or trainings for the purpose of coordinating instructional activities including disseminating and receiving information, planning and implementing curriculum, while providing support to the instructional staff. Confers with instructional staff regarding a variety of topics (e.g. instructional techniques, organization of practices, strategies, etc.) for the purpose of providing guidance and mentoring. Coordinates program components, support needs and materials for the purpose of delivering services which conform to established guidelines. Engages teachers in data analysis via a reflection process for the purpose of individualized professional development (change process). Maintains a variety of manual and electronic files and/or records for the purpose of determining success of math coaching on student achievement. Oversees classroom instruction for the purpose of providing information, strategies and/or ideas to encourage a variety of teaching styles, to ensure the development of subject specific teaching. Participates and delivers professional development activities (e.g. District workshops, self‑directed of newest trends in all content area instruction, etc.) for the purpose of providing implementation of optimal all content area methods, materials, and assessments to enhance curriculum development. Prepares a variety of manual and electronic documents, files and records (e.g. professional development materials, purchase orders, teacher contact logs, etc.) for the purpose of providing information and/or complying with established requirements. Researches a variety of topics (e.g. activities for teaching, styles, methods, etc.) for the purpose of providing information specific to all content area programs. Responds to inquiries of other school personnel for the purpose of providing information, assistance and/or direction related to the grade level or special area activities. Serves as member of site teams for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions and remaining knowledgeable with program guidelines. Serves as a resource to teachers (e.g. co‑teacher, new teacher orientation, instructional process, classroom management, curriculum, etc.) for the purpose of providing support and guidance as requested based on their knowledge and experience. Trains teachers and new staff members (e.g. support plans, in‑service meetings, teaching techniques, test administration and test preparation training, etc.) for the purpose of improving teacher performance in all content area related areas. Other Functions Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit. Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications Skills, Knowledge and Abilities SKILLS are required to perform single, technical tasks with a need to occasionally upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. KNOWLEDGE is required to perform basic math, including calculations using fractions, percents, and/or ratios; review and interpret highly technical information, write technical materials, and/or speak persuasively to implement desired actions; and analyze situations to define issues and draw conclusions. Specific knowledge based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: curriculum, instruction, and subjects of teaching assignments; pertinent laws, codes, policies, and/or regulations; public relations protocols; and relevant professional standards and practices. ABILITY is required to schedule a number of activities, meetings, and/or events; gather, collate, and/or classify data; and use job‑related equipment. Flexibility is required to independently work with others in a wide variety of circumstances; analyze data utilizing defined but different processes; and operate equipment using a variety of standardized methods. Ability is also required to work with a wide diversity of individuals; work with a variety of data; and utilize job‑related equipment. Problem solving is required to analyze issues and create action plans. Problem solving with data requires independent interpretation of guidelines; and problem solving with equipment is limited to moderate. Specific ability based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: communicating with persons of varied educational and cultural backgrounds; meeting deadlines and schedules; providing leadership, direction, and team building; providing opportunities for the exchange of ideas; and setting priorities. Responsibility Responsibilities include: working under limited supervision following standardized practices and/or methods; directing other persons within a department, large work unit, and/or across several small work units; tracking budget expenditures. Utilization of some resources from other work units may be required to perform the job's functions. There is some opportunity to effect the organization’s services. The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling,and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 40% sitting, 30% walking, and 30% standing. This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment. Experience: 5 years Job related experience with increasing levels of responsibility is desired. Education: Bachelors degree in job-related area. Equivalency: Masters degree in job related area.
