Hart McLaughlin & Eldridge is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join our team in our Chicago office. This position supports attorneys by preparing documents, filing pleadings and motions, managing case files, scheduling matters, and facilitating communication with clients. For more information about HME visit our website Responsibilities Include Legal Support Organize and electronically file legal documents, supporting attorneys in their drafting, preparation, and organization, including pleadings, motions, and discovery materials. Prepare and file documents with the court, ensuring strict adherence to relevant rules and deadlines. Conduct legal research, including case law, statutes, and regulations, to support case development. Provide assistance to attorneys during trial and hearing proceedings. Administrative Duties Manage general office operations, including correspondence, phone handling, and organization of materials. Act as a liaison between attorneys, clients, and third parties. Oversee scheduling and calendar coordination. Case Management Coordinate the scheduling of appointments, hearings, depositions, and other case-related events. Manage and organize case files, ensuring that all documents are filed correctly and are easily accessible. Client and Court Communication Serve as a liaison between clients, attorneys, and other parties, ensuring timely communication and relaying information. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Legal Studies or a Paralegal Certificate ABA-approved institution. Paralegal, Litigation, Legal Assistance or Relevant Law firm Experience: 4 years (Required) Experience in civil rights litigation (Preferred) Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Calendar): 3 years (Required) Skilled at working independently, managing multiple tasks simultaneously, and adapting to instructions effectively. Proficient in using legal research and case management software. High level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion when handling confidential information. Strong proofreading skills and attention to detail. Must have the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team with other legal assistants, paralegals and attorneys, as well as to work independently. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
