We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Senior PHP/Web Developer to join our team. This role combines hands-on development with leadership and mentorship responsibilities. You’ll work on scalable web applications using modern PHP frameworks like Laravel and Symfony , while also guiding junior developers, shaping coding standards, and helping steer our development roadmap. You will be a key contributor to both code and culture.

Job Duties

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-quality web applications using PHP and frameworks such as Laravel and Symfony.
• Take ownership of key components of the codebase that drive business success.
• Mentor and support junior developers through code reviews, technical guidance, and performance feedback.
• Contribute to architecture decisions, design discussions, and technical planning.
• Actively participate in sprint planning, daily standups, and sprint retrospectives; manage sprint boards as needed.
• Integrate and manage third-party APIs (REST, SOAP, JSON).
• Ensure performance, security, scalability, and maintainability of all applications.
• Champion and evolve coding standards, development workflows, and internal best practices.
• Troubleshoot complex issues across the stack and propose innovative solutions.
• Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to align development with business goals.
• Assist with interviewing, onboarding, and training of new developers.
• Stay current on emerging technologies and recommend relevant improvements.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Solid frontend knowledge: HTML, CSS, JavaScript , and basic understanding of modern JS frameworks like React or Vue.js.
• Strong experience with version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
• Deep understanding of software architecture principles and design patterns.
• Proficiency in SQL and database design, with experience optimizing queries.
• You write clean, efficient, and testable code with an emphasis on scalability.
• You’re a clear communicator who can explain complex topics to non-technical stakeholders.
• You enjoy mentoring and leading by example in a collaborative environment.
• You have a growth mindset and constantly seek to improve both yourself and your team.

Minimum Requirements

Education 

• High School Graduate or General Education Degree
• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field, preferred

Experience

• You have 5+ years of professional experience in PHP development.
• Proven expertise with Laravel, Symfony, and ideally other frameworks like Doctrine, Eloquent, or Slim.
• Experience with both modern and legacy systems, preferred
• Familiarity with SEO best practices, preferred
• Exposure to Docker, Kubernetes, or other containerization tools, preferred
• Public portfolio, GitHub profile, or personal website showcasing relevant work, preferred

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday.
