Structural Stick Welder
Pay Rate: $20–$25/hour (based on experience & certifications)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 40 hours/week
Start Date: November 1st
Employment Type: Full-Time, Project-Based
Travel Required: Yes – Per diem and lodging provided
Location: Multiple job sites (travel required)
Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Stick Welder with experience in structural welding and tank repair for a full-time, travel-based project scheduled to begin on November 1st. The ideal candidate will be proficient in SMAW (Stick) welding, with the ability to perform high-quality welds on steel components used in water storage tanks. Work includes welding both interior and exterior surfaces, often in confined spaces or at elevated positions.

Key Responsibilities:
Perform welding repairs on steel water tanks, including patching, reinforcing, and structural modifications
Weld both inside and outside of tanks, often in confined spaces and at heights
Use a variety of welding processes: SMAW (Stick) required; MIG and TIG are a plus
Cut, grind, and prepare metal surfaces for welding and fit-up
Interpret blueprints, repair drawings, and specifications
Assist with tank inspection prep and reinforcement of tank shells, roofs, and bases
Operate grinders, torches, air tools, and welding equipment safely
Maintain welding tools and equipment to ensure proper operation and compliance
Coordinate with other crews (sandblasting and painting) to ensure timely project completion
Requirements:
Proven experience in structural welding, preferably on water tanks or industrial structures
Proficient in SMAW (Stick); MIG and TIG experience is a plus
Able to pass weld tests (bend tests, visual inspection, etc.)
Strong understanding of safety procedures and PPE requirements
Comfortable working in confined spaces, at heights, and in physically demanding environments
Must be able to travel to job sites and work extended hours or weekends as needed
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Certifications:
AWS Welding Certification
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
Confined Space Entry
Fall Protection
(Note: OSHA Basic Certification and respirator fit testing will be provided and scheduled as needed.)
Travel, Lodging & Per Diem:
Hotel/Lodging: Arranged by the client
Transportation: Arranged by the client; gas reimbursement provided if personal vehicle is used
Per Diem:
$20/day if lodging is provided
$50/day if lodging is not provided
