Mortgage Underwriter

Manulife Bank & Trust's Mortgage Underwriting department is looking for a Mortgage Underwriter to join the team!

Position Responsibilities:

• Manage the underwriting of residential mortgage applications. Exercise sound financial judgment in granting loans within delegated limits.
• Review documents submitted by sales partners to identify and decision whether documents adhere to internal guidelines.
• Ability to process a high volume of work files with attention to detail.
• Manage your files with appropriate communication while working closely with the salesperson associated with the file.

Required Qualifications:

• 3-5 years' experience in residential mortgage underwriting specifically with files of higher complexity
• Strong customer service and decisioning skills.
• Ability to work in a dynamic team environment and handle several tasks simultaneously.
• Excellent written and communication skills.
• Sound knowledge of banking systems.
• Identify and solve issues requiring a high degree of judgment and recommend solutions.
• Overtime during peak season is a requirement.
• Candidates must live within the region they support to maintain a strong understanding of local real estate market trends and cultural nuances.

• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to multi-task, organize and prioritize workflows.

CAN, Ontario - Full Time Remote

Working Arrangement: Remote

Salary range is expected to be between $50,700.00 CAD - $84,500.00 CAD. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training. Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance.
